Squirrel Relay Crushes Competition (read: almost loses to HS kids)

Yes, you heard right. Last Tuesday the Ohio Squirrels showed
up to
practice at Milford only to find a MAST swim meet in progress. Armed
with nothing but his good looks Mike Jones convinced the persons in
charge to allow a Squirrel relay to enter the last event: 200 Freestyle
Relay. Mike Jones, Roman, Kent and Mathers took up the duty of
representing the infamous Ohio Squirrels. The finish was close and
contestable but we're pretty sure the Squirrels came out on top (and
even if we didn't, let's do our dignity a favor and pretend we
did).

4th Place Finish at Athens Showdown

The Ohio Squirrels competed in the 4th Annual Athens Showdown
on
April 12-13, walking away with a solid fourth place finish. The
Squirrels pulled out strong wins against Cleveland and Ball
State
but fell in hard fought matches against Toronto and Ohio University.

Akron Tournament this Weekend!

The Ohio Squirrels will travel to the University of Akron this weekend to compete in the 8th Annual Rubber match invitational. Expect a fun and challenging tournament. Stay tuned for updates and results.
Game schedule is as follows:
Saturday
Game 1 v. Ohio State - 12pm
Game 2 v. Pittsburgh - 2pm
Sunday
Game 3 v. Cleveland St - 10am
Game 4 v. TBD (either 11am, 12pm, 1pm or 2pm) depending on how we play
in the prior 3 games.
Cincy people - we are heading up Saturday morning. More to come!
Practice Times, Picture Day, and Applebees

Our current practice is 8-10:30pm with 8-9pm swimming/conditioning followed by 9-10:30 of water polo drills/scrimmage. We are extending our water polo portion to 8:45pm-10:30pm. For those who just show up to the water polo portion, try to get there around 8:45pm. We will be starting this this coming Tuesday (next practice).

Swim For Diabetes Success!

The Ohio Squirrels successfully hosted a Swim for Diabetes fundraiser at Milford High School on March 6, 2008. Over 20 people participated in the mile-long swim in an effort to create a dialogue and raise awareness for this disease. After 2 months of heckling, the Squirrels raised over $1,700.00 and firmly placed themselves as one of the top donating teams in Ohio! For any questions regarding the team fundraising or Central Ohio Diabetes.

The Ohio Squirrels competed in the Flyer Invitational for the second time, improving upon last September's 5th place finish with a hard won 1st place against Dayton. Strong performances were made by Phil Weisfelder, Geoff Gear and Brandi Shoupe. Read more »
1st Annual Queen City Rumble
