Mission Statement

The Ohio Squirrels Water Polo Club was born in January, 2007 with the focus on creating a club water polo program that continues the sport of water polo in the Cincinnati area and state of Ohio. The name "squirrels" comes from the idea that a lot of players at the first couple of tournaments were from different cities in Ohio. The state of Ohio can be looked at as a tree with its major cities of Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland and Toledo as tree branches. All of our players were from these major cities and they acted as squirrels jumping nimbly from tree to tree.

The Ohio
Squirrels are planning on attending the 2008
Hillbilly Classic Tournament hosted by the University of
Tennessee August 30-31. Check out the awesome flyer here.
And if somehow that's not cool enough for you, take a gander at the
July issue of 'The Nut',
the one and only monthly newsletter of the Ohio Squirrels. (Yes, the
rumors are true, the ruggedly handsome, brick-wall of a goalie and all
around ladies man Corey Dauw is the featured 'Nut of the Month'. He'll
be signing autographs at practice all this week.)
Reminder: Please remember to check the
website (this thing) frequently to stay up to date with practice times
and cancellations. The schedule below has been updated.

That lazy web-squirrel has finally updated the website. There is a new section to the left that will hold all the information you'll ever want to know about high school water polo. Really, it will. In addition we've added a Merchandise page where you can find out how to grab the latest Squirrel apparel and accessories (all still under construction). Lastly, the June issue of 'The Nut' has been posted on the Newsletters page. Check it out.
Squirrel Relay Crushes Competition (read: almost loses to HS kids)

Yes, you heard right. Last Tuesday the Ohio Squirrels showed
up to
practice at Milford only to find a MAST swim meet in progress. Armed
with nothing but his good looks Mike Jones convinced the persons in
charge to allow a Squirrel relay to enter the last event: 200 Freestyle
Relay. Mike Jones, Roman, Kent and Mathers took up the duty of
representing the infamous Ohio Squirrels. The finish was close and
contestable but we're pretty sure the Squirrels came out on top (and
even if we didn't, let's do our dignity a favor and pretend we
did).
